In light of AAAID’s exerted efforts to develop its agricultural investments in the Republic of Algeria, and discuss future cooperation avenues in agricultural projects and investments that serve common interests, a visit was recently conducted by H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of AAAID, and an accompanying delegation to the Republic of Algeria during 7-12 September, 2023, in which AAAID’s delegation met with several Algerian government officials and major investors in the agricultural field.
During the visit, H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of AAAID, and the accompanying delegation met with H.E. Laaziz Fayed, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Algeria, on 11 September, 2023 at the Ministry’s headquarters, during which they addressed the reality and prospects of cooperation between Algeria and AAAID in the agricultural field, with the aim of enhancing food security. Additionally, H.E. the Minister of Finance called on AAAID to increase efforts of supporting and developing the agricultural sector in the Arab countries in general and in Algeria, which worked to improve the investment climate by granting facilities and incentives to investors. For his part, H.E. AAAID’s President admired the efforts undertaken by the Republic of Algeria to support the agricultural sector and the interest and attention it showed in various areas of agricultural investment.
AAAID’s delegation also met with Mr. Bahloul Al Arabi, Governor of Adrar Province, on 7 September 2023, who was introduced to AAAID and its areas of work, activities and investment opportunities in Algeria, which is represented in the Sanabil Alarabia Project that aims at producing grains and fodder at an area of 7 thousand hectares in Tiaret Province in Algeria. For his part, the governor highlighted the investment advantages and available opportunities in Algeria, besides expressing his enthusiasm to establish cooperation with AAAID in the fields of agriculture and fisheries.
Lastly, they also met with Mr. Arar Abdullah – General Manager of the Agri-food Activity Unit of (Sonatrach) company, in which they discussed the potential for cooperation between AAAID and Sonatrach in the agricultural investment field, as well as reviewed the investment opportunities available to both sides. Besides meeting with Mr. Naazi Mohamed – President of Saida Province Office, so as to learn about the land nature in Adrar state and visit some of Sonatrach’s projects in Saidi Province.
