On Monday, October 14, 2024, a partnership agreement in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles was signed between the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) and EBDAA Microfinance Bank -Sudan. The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al-Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of AAAID, and H.E. Dr. Nasser Bin Bakr Al-Qahtani, Chairman of the Board of EBDAA Bank.
The contract aims to participate in establishing a financial portfolio targeting small-scall farming communities in Sudan to provide financial services in the form of loans to assist them. The financial portfolio is intended to contribute to creating income sources for small-scall farmers and creating employment opportunities that will enable them to repay those loans.
It is worth mentioning that EBDAA Microfinance Bank – Sudan is part of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) banking system, which adopts the implementation of sustainable development goals through financial and savings products. It provides sustainable financial services for income-generating small business owners and promotes the culture of microfinance and small and micro enterprises among citizens.
