AAAID’s participation in agricultural exhibitions serves a number of economic, technical and social purposes. In that light, AAAID’s President, His Excellency Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei participated with an accompanying delegation of AAAID officials in the Agritechnica Exhibition held in Hanover, Germany on the 10th-14th of November 2015. Agritechnica, which is considered one of the largest agricultural equipment exhibitions in the world, displays the most up to date innovations and technologies in the agricultural sector.
AAAID’s interests lie in learning about fast-paced technological advances and continuous modernization and development in the means of agricultural production and its related aspects. Further, it is highly concerned with exhibiting companies and their products and benefiting as agricultural producers from innovations in the field. Participation in this important international exhibition facilitated engaging with other agricultural producers and production companies, which enables the exchange of opinions and deliberations on solutions regarding agricultural production challenges. This is in line with AAAID’s desire to explore new investment opportunities with local and regional exhibiting companies.
H.E Al-Mazrooei and his delegation visited the stalls of a number of the exhibiting companies including AGCO and met the company’s representative and learned about the exhibited equipment. These included harvesting machines, tractors and fodder compressors. The delegation also visited the the German company Petkus’s mills section, which works on grading of seeds and ridding them of impurities as well as packaging seeds to prevent them from diseases when planted.
The delegation also met the company Otech Group Irrimec that presents appropriate water conservation solutions and advanced irrigation equipment. In addition, the company explored Riela’s company stall, which specializes in the production of Metal silos, and seed tanks made of galvanized steel in different shapes and sizes of the most advanced nature.
The delegation placed emphasis on visiting companies that specialized in smart agricultural technologies and participated in a number of forums that were organized as part of the exhibition. His Excellency Al-Mazrooei met a number of investors and businessmen including Algerian investor Mr. Saad Budmagh. The two engaged in a number of discussions around agricultural investments in which H.E presented a detailed explanation of AAAID’s agricultural investment activities. Further, His Excellency elaborated on AAAID’s goals, projects and project selection criteria and expressed AAAID’s interest in investing in Algeria.
The delegation also visited the Arab German Chambers of Commerce on invitation from its Secretary General and the parties exchanged knowledge about the nature of their work and agreed on cooperation.
