AAAID was the proud Sectorial Partner of the AGRAME event in its capacity as a pioneer regional institution in the agricultural investment and development sectors. ‘’AAAID has been reinforcing food security through agricultural investment as its primary vision for the past 40 years. We believe that there are immense agricultural investment opportunities in the Arab world that can be utilised to drive socio-economic development. Agricultural investment is the main pillar of stability for every Arab country and is a sector that requires considerable attention’’ quoted His Excellency on the authority’s support of this imminent event.
Agra ME is one of the Middle East’s leading agribusiness exhibitions and conferences, hosting more than 285 agribusinesses from 35 countries that took place from 13-15 March 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates and inaugurated by its Undersecretary H.E. Abdelrahim Al Hammadi. AAAID’s President His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei delivered a Keynote speech during the Agribusiness Outlook Forum.
The Forum discussed topics concerning economics of agriculture for the MENA region. AAAID’s presence was highly felt as a leader in the agricultural investment sector and featured 2 speakers from AAAID and Al-Rawabi, a AAAID affiliated company. AAAID’s Director of Studies and Development presented a paper titled ‘’ Changing the Paradigm to Develop Innovation in Agriculture’’ that highlighted AAAID’s commitment to innovation, technology transfer and development and providing an overview of the challenges facing innovation in the region.
Al Rawabi presented a paper titled ’’ Food Safety and Quality’’ which was presented by its General Manager who elaborated Al-Rawabi’s journey as a leading dairy market producer and marketer in the UAE and the role that innovation played in its success.
The two papers resonated with the audience and succeeded in generating much constructive discussions on the way forward for the agriculture investment sector in the region. Panel members and participants highly admired AAAID’s extensive accomplishments in reinforcing food security and the successful application of innovative technologies to boost productivity in the Arab Member states.
AAAID is committed to driving financial investment and development to pursue its goal of reinforcing food security in the region and believes that active engagement in such platforms is an imperative.
