The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) organized the Affiliate Companies’ Meeting on 7 March, 2018 at the Agra Middle East Exhibition held at the Dubai World Trade Center. The event took place from 6 to 8 March 2018, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment for the United Arab Emirates.
The Agra Middle East Forum and Exhibition is one of the leading exhibitions and conferences in the agricultural investment sector. More than 300 companies from 44 countries participated this year, as well as over 5000 participants from 92 countries around the world. During this event, pioneers in the agricultural sector in various fields, interested businessmen, importers, exporters, investors, business owners, farmers and producers from all over the world gather to exchange experiences, hold dialogues and introduce products and innovations in the agricultural sector.
During the exhibition, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development held its Affiliate Companies’ Meeting, where AAAID hosted a dialogue panel for its affiliate companies under the honor of Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi, Minister of State for Food Security for the UAE. The panel held presentations from Kenana Sugar Company, Al Rawabi Dairy Company, Manafid Al Houboub Company, Domaine Youssef Company, Al Marga for Cattle and Agricultural Development Company, and Emirates Modern Poultry Company (Al Rawdah), where the companies presented their potential output and activities that support Arab food security. During the meeting, investors and businesspersons were able to discuss and exchange solutions to the obstacles of agricultural investments in Arab countries.
Additionally, the meeting saw the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between Al Rawabi Dairy Company and the Arab Company for Drugs Ltd as well as Emirates Modern Poultry Co. (AL RAWDAH) and the Arab Company for Drugs Ltd. This is in addition to the signing of Shareholder Agreements on the Red Meat Project in Mauritania and the Fish Farming Project in Oman.
His Excellency Mohammed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of AAAID stated that Arab countries have a responsibility to reduce the growing gap in food security, which is one of the reasons for the participation of AAAID and its strategic partners in Agra Middle East 2018. The Arab Authority is always keen to build partnerships and strengthen relations with Arab and international institutions as well as create mutual benefits.
His Excellency further stressed that AAAID hosting the Affiliate Companies’ Meeting at Agra Middle East 2018 provides a platform for organizations and companies to share the latest technologies used and highlight their most significant innovations in the fields of crop cultivation, animal husbandry, aquaculture and animal health. In addition to discussing the challenges facing the industry and how to rectify them. The meeting was attended by representatives of most of AAAID’s 44 affiliate companies, in addition to a number of investors and strategic partners of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
