His Excellency Mohammed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, participated in the Cooperative Societies Council Forum held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the theme “Towards Cooperative Sustainable Development”. The forum was organized by the Cooperative Societies Council in the Buraydah Region of Saudi Arabia on 26 March 2018 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz.
The forum was attended by a number of government officials, businesspersons, economists, academics and heads of cooperative societies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The forum aims to promote the initiatives of the cooperative sector by participating in the “Vision 2030” initiative through developing a culture of cooperative action and motivating cooperative leaders to participate actively in developmental projects. This is in addition to finding new solutions in the management of cooperatives, activating the participation of associations with the public and private sector, and discussing the most crucial obstacles to cooperative work.
AAAID’s participation was comprised of a presentation by H.E Mohammed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei during the second session under the title of “Cooperative financing and private sector relations”. This comes as a result of the Arab Authority’s extensive experience and success in cooperative financing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Arabian Cooperative Company in Aseer as well as in various agricultural financing activities in a number of Arab countries.
