Bank for Economic Development in Africa Badia, and the Committee for Climate Change Innovation, Food Security, and Agriculture at the University of Chicago, the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development participated with a delegation led by H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of AAAID Board of Directors, in a high-level workshop on addressing challenges and opportunities for small farmers and food security. The workshop took place from June 3-4, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, Chairman of AAAID Board of Directors, participated as one of the keynote speakers with a working paper at the workshop, presented the achievements of AAAID and successful experiences in financing small farmers.He highlighted AAAID distinguished experience in financing small farmers and producers through the use of modern technologies and advanced systems in investment projects, which have been transferred and replicated in several Arab countries such as the Republic of Sudan, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
On the sidelines of the workshop, meetings were held with several directors of organizations, institutions, and private sector companies to discuss ways of cooperation aimed at developing future investment projects.
