H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), participated in the 30th edition of Gulfood 2025, the world’s largest food and beverage exhibition, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Thursday 18 Feb 2025
During his participation in the FOOD 500 session, H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi outlined AAAID’s vision for enhancing food security in Arab countries and discussed the current state of intra-Arab trade in agricultural and food commodities, noting that the food gap in the Arab region is estimated at approximately $47 billion.
H.E. Dr. Al Zaabi explained that the AAAID’s vision focuses on several key pillars, including improving agricultural production, expanding microfinance for small farmers, and establishing a digital platform for agricultural products to enhance e-commerce in the food sector. He also provided a detailed overview of the AAAID’s objectives, which aim to provide food supplies through investment in agricultural development and strengthening regional cooperation.
