H.E. Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, participated as an official speaker in a discussion session “Leaders of Transformation and Collaboration in the New Economic Landscape” during the first day of the conference on February 19, 2024. The session highlighted the role of AAAID in food sustainability and its support and financing of smallholders in the agricultural sector, which significantly contributes to achieving food security in the Arab world.
Dr. Al Zaabi provided a comprehensive overview about AAAID and its main objectives, aiming to contribute to food provision in Arab countries through agricultural investment and development. He discussed the sectors in which AAAID operates and emphasized its outstanding model in financing small farmers and producers. He also highlighted the successful experience of AAAID in this field and its plans to transfer this experience to other Arab countries.
Furthermore, Dr. Al Zaabi addressed AAAID’s role in utilizing modern agricultural technologies and advanced systems in investment projects. He emphasized that the authority is at the forefront in this field and will implement and transfer these technologies to member states.
He further mentioned that AAAID supports and promotes projects and developmental activities that preserve and safeguard the environment, acknowledging the experience of the Emirates Nature Society and the potential for collaboration to serve the environment.
