In its endeavor to enhance the functional capabilities of its employees, and under the directives of His Excellency Dr. Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, The Board Chairman of The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID (, AAAID organized a training course in “Professional Project Management PMP.” This course aimed to develop the professional skills of a number of participants from leadership, supervisory roles, and employees involved in project management. The course was held on July 8, 2024, for a duration of 35 training hours, at the training hall of AAAID’s Main Office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The training course aimed to enhance job capabilities and improve performance by providing advanced and comprehensive content that meets the professional requirements of project management. It covered the steps involved in developing a new project, identifying key areas that need to be controlled to ensure successful project management, and understanding the objectives, goals, and benefits of any project.
It is worth noting that the number of companies and projects in which AAAID has investments reached 52 by the end of 2023, including 37 existing companies and 15 companies under implementation and establishment. The total value of AAAID’s investments in its existing companies and those under implementation and establishment, execution amounted to approximately USD 666.3 million, representing about 92.5% of AAAID’s paid-up capital of USD 720.1 million. These investments are distributed across four main sectors: Agricultural Manufacturing (49.90%), Animal Production (23.92%), Crop Production (22.74%), and Services Sector (3.44%).
Upon completion of the training course, the participant will have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary for effective project management. This includes the ability to identify key elements, evaluate the overall environment from multiple perspectives, understand the big picture, and take the necessary steps to successfully complete the project. Additionally, participants will gain an understanding of proper planning, scheduling, and total project management costs from start to finish. They will be exposed to best practices in applying project management methodologies and tools, review case studies of project failures, and develop knowledge on how to mitigate risks through proper implementation at all stages and accurate project reporting.
