H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of AAAID, accompanied by AAAID’s Economic Advisor recently paid a visit to the State of Palestine during 15-19 September, 2023, during which they met with H.E. Dr. Riyad Attari, the Palestinian Minister of Agriculture, and a number of Ministry officials so as to discuss future collaboration in areas that reinforce food security, besides briefing AAAID’s delegation on the projects funded by AAAID in a number of governorates of the State of Palestine.
For his part, H.E. AAAID’s President gave a brief introduction about AAAID and its working method including its vision, objectives, sectoral distribution of its contributions and investments, its strategy and role in contributing to supporting the small-scale farmers and producers segment, as well as its development programs in the Arab countries in general and in the State of Palestine in particular. Moreover, H.E. highlighted that AAAID provides support of financing development projects in the agricultural sector in cooperation with the Arab funds, with a vision to contribute to achieving economic and social development and alleviating the suffering of small-scale farmers and producers.
Last but not least, H.E. the President shed the light on the significant projects which include the drilling of 198 wells for farmers in Marj Sanur area, the implementation of 20 water harvesting ponds in areas of Beit ar-Rush, Arraba and Bani Na’im, as well as the rehabilitation and cultivation of about 2,000 dunums of agricultural land in the West Bank. In addition to rehabilitating agricultural roads, including building retaining walls, roadway shoulders, and water drainage culverts in Hebron and Bethlehem, along with empowering young agricultural engineers to undertake entrepreneurship in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and other projects that support small-scale farmers
