His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development received, Mr. Theodore T. Senasu, Economic Adviser to the United States Embassy in Khartoum, on 2 November 2017, at his office at the AAAID headquarters in Khartoum.
His Excellency welcomed the visiting delegation and thanked them for the visit, which comes in order to discuss aspects of cooperation in the common areas between the two sides. They were briefed on the activities and investments of AAAID in Sudan. He stressed on the possibility of collaboration of the Arab Authority with investors and American companies, especially after the lifting of economic sanctions imposed on Sudan. Focusing on the field of the transfer of advanced agricultural technologies in the irrigation and agricultural machinery sectors, fertilizers and agricultural pesticides. H.E Mr. Mohamed Al Mazrooei also expressed his happiness about the agricultural potential enjoyed by Sudan.
His Excellency further discussed the familiarity of the Arab Authority in the field of financing small-scale farmers and providing them with integrated technical packages of improved seeds and facilitating the use of agricultural mechanisms in all agricultural operations in addition to the usage of agricultural transactions recommended by agricultural research, resulting in increased productivity of farmers.
On their part, the American delegation thanked the President H.E Mr. Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei for the warm welcome, praising the importance of the role of the Arab Authority in investment in the agricultural sector. They also stressed the need to attract American companies to invest in Sudan and enter into partnerships with the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development to achieve the objectives of both parties.
