On 17 July 2017, HE Mr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al Mazrouei, President of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, welcomed at his office at the headquarters of the Arab Authority in Khartoum Dr. Abdul Kamara, Resident Representative at the Sudan Country Office of the African Development Bank.
His Excellency the President of AAAID received the Director General of the Bank and briefed him on the different programs and activities of the Arab Authority in various fields, especially developmental programs. The two sides exchanged cooperation and collaboration ideas between the Arab Authority and the African Development Bank, explaining that the Arab Authority’s responsibility is on the rise day by day as the Arab food gap increases. He also elaborated that bridging the food gap needs the efforts of all concerned parties to increase agricultural production in the Arab world. He further stated that Sudan has the resources necessary to achieve Arab food security and is a strong candidate to become a pioneer in the field of agriculture on a global level.
For his part, the Director General of the Bank thanked H.E the President of AAAID for the warm reception, explaining that the aim of the visit was to strengthen the bonds between the Arab Authority and the African Development Bank especially in the field of agricultural development. The two sides agreed to coordinate a meeting between experts and specialists from both sides to prepare a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in fields with common interest.
