H.E Mr. Mohamed Bin Obaid Al Mazrooei, President of AAAID, accompanied by the Directors of related departments at AAAID, paid a visit to H.E Dr. Mohammed Taher Alaa, governor of Al Jazeera State at his office on 12 April 2017. Their meeting was in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture and the Director of land as well as the State legal advisor. The visit is part of the efforts of the senior management at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development to continue its efforts aimed at achieving food security in Arab nations.
Primarily, H.E President of AAAID gave thanks to the Governor and all the officials of the Republic of Sudan for the warm welcome and continuous support that the Arab Authority has received in regards to all its activities at the headquarters located in Sudan. He also stated that the main objective of the visit is to inform the Minister of various barriers and obstacles that hinder the work of the companies of AAAID in the State of Al Jazeera. Some of these obstacles include land expropriation in the Bageir region. Furthermore, H.E Mr. Mohamed Al Mazrooei requested assistance from the Governor in eliminating the barriers discussed during the meeting.
On the other hand, the Governor welcomed the AAAID President as well as his accompanying delegation. He expressed his gratitude for the visit, stressing the importance of the role of the Arab Authority in achieving food security in the Arab world by utilizing the natural agricultural resources available in Sudan, with the goal further implementing the initiative of H.E the President of Sudan in reaching food security. The Governor also affirmed his State’s support for the projects of AAAID, in addition to welcoming the cooperation with AAAID to overcome all territorial obstacles. He further promised to work on recovering any land that belongs to the Arab Authority, and supporting concerned authorities in the mandate to stand with the Arab Authority.
