A delegation from AAAID have participated in the Sudan Ceremony of World Food Day .The delegation which represents AAAID included Mr. Salah Hassan –Economical Expert and Mr. Ihab Mahmoud –Senior Agricultural Researcher .The event was held in Zumuruda Palace Hall Hotel in the head quarter of the Agricultural Engineers Union in Khartoum on Tuesday 16/10/2012 under the theme “Agricultural Cooperatives Bodies to feed the World “. The celebration was organized by the ministry of Agriculture and irrigation in cooperation with FAO organization and SAYGA Co .one of DAL Group. The ceremony was addressed by the representative of the minister of agriculture and irrigation Mr.Gaffar Ahmed Abdullah state minister of ministry of Agriculture who addressed the importance of cooperatives in supporting economy and its contribution in reducing poverty in the country; he also stressed the importance of this celebration in developing an efficient strategy to enhance food security. After that the presence were listened to a speech by the representative of FAO organization in Sudan Mr. Mai Musa Abari who explained that main purpose of the ceremony is to highlight the problem of hunger in world and solutions .the theme “cooperatives feed the world “has been chosen to highlight the important role of the cooperatives in enhancing food security ,job opportunities and lifting people out of poverty and hunger. In conclusion the presence exchanged a working paper on “Agricultural cooperatives contribution in providing food in Sudan in the early of 1948 in Wad Ramli and its contributions to the provision of food as well as failures and solutions.
